Dermapen is a unique micro needling device that has quickly become the innovative Leader in Anti-Aging treatments. The Dermapen was recently awarded the Best Anti-Aging device at The Aesthetic Show in Las Vegas.

A traditional Chinese Medicine with over 5000 years of ancient acupuncture techniques history and results created and developed in the 1990s by a team of European plastic surgeons and dermatologists. The insertion of needles into the skin created electrical activity and a subsequent chain of events resulting in increased collagen production and an effective wound healing response. Unlike dermabrasion and laser treatments, there is minimal to no risk of hyper-pigmentation.

The Dermapen fractional micro delivery provides unparalleled via fractional delivery of needles micro injuries into the epidermis and dermis. These micro injuries to the skin encourage and harness the power of the body’s innate ability to re-grow and repair the skin through the normal physiology of skin.

Medically and clinically proven results:

  • Stimulations of collagen,
  • Increased Cell Regeneration,
  • Increased Cell Proliferation,
  • Angiogenesis (the formation & development of capillaries )
  • Exfoliation,
  • Increased Topical Product Absorption,
  • Regulated Pigmentation,
  • Reduced size of the appearance of Pores,
  • Reduced size of the appearance of Scar Tissue
  • Reduce Appearance of Stretch Marks,
  • Reduce Appearance of Cellulite,
  • Increased Growth of stronger and thicker hair.

The first phase

Begins with the release of the:

  • Body’s growth factors
  • New epidermal growth
  • Fibroblast chemo-taxis
  • Fibroblast proliferation
  • Matrix production

This proliferation of the body’s tissue continues to release growth factors from fibroblasts, keratinocytes and monocytes.

The second phase

continues release of growth factors from fibroblast, keratinocytes ans monocytes.

  • Epidermal growth
  • Fibroblast proliferation (increased collagen synthesis, wound repair)
  • Collagen III, IV and I
  • Elastin
  • AG’s (fluids of the dermis = glycosaminoglycan’s)
  • Proteglycans (“core protein”)
  • Angiogenesis (creation of new blood vessels)

The last phase

results in tissue remodelling where the skins vascular matrix matures and skin tightening as well as new collagen can be seen. The body’s ability to remodel and heal itself is at the heart of this amazing process. As a medical grade, stainless steel needles penetrate, they effectively create microscopic trauma deep within the skin’s matrix. As the skin reacts, tiny electrical signals are released which create a chain of events or a wound healing response. Cells are recreated and re-invigorated to replace any damage, Transforming Growth Factor is released from broken capillaries, fibroblast cells are     proliferated, collagen is regenerated, cell division is increased and nutrient rich blood flow is stimulated

Dermapen treatment has a same effect as Fraxel with NO downtime, less risk of hyper pigmentations less pain.

How does it feel?

As a dermapen clinical treatments are performed at microscopic level within the skin, there is minimum trauma and discomfort. However, as the length of the needles increase, there is a greater requirement for anaesthetic.   There is minimum trauma and discomfort, as we apply topical anaesthetic J  most patients report a prickly sensation.  All devices are manufactured out of medical grade stainless steel, ensuring that there is no reaction to human skin.

Depend on the needle length but every size design to the shortest and most comfortable recovery time possible, whilst still ensuring maximum results and treatment longevity. There is no downtime for the 0.25mm Homecare device. Immediately following in-clinic treatments with the 0.75mm, 1.5mm, and the 2.00mm devices, the skin may appear reddened, similar of mild sunburn. Some Patients skin may remain red and slightly swollen for 1-2 days, there will be no scabbing or lesions present.

It is fine to go straight to work and resume normal activities after the clinical treatment and any redness may be temporarily toned down with mineral make-up.

How many treatment do I need?

3 – 6 treatments 4 – 6 weeks apart, depending your skin condition, your age and your skin elasticity. As you age the collagen production slows down and we don’t want to damage the brand new collagen.

Nobel Prize-Winning Growth Factors

da Vinci 21 and da Vinci 10 are two NEW anti-aging serums to hit the market in Australia.

Do you see any of these 3 signs of aging?

  • Skin colour becomes greybecause of less blood flow.
  • Facial Shape becomes collapsedand droopy as muscle and collagen decrease.
  • Skin texture becomes less smooth. As a result, the person looks worn, tired or droopy.

Have you heard about PRP a “Vampire Facelift”?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the source of concentrated platelet content present in blood. Platelets release growth factors that are protein which assists the human body to repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue. They were discovered in 1986 by Professor Cohen and Rita Levi Montalcini who both won a Nobel Prize for their discovery. PRP injections were first used in 1987 in open heart surgery. Today the plasma can easily be separated from blood, through a process of centrifugation. The concentrated plasma, which is rich in platelets – the part of the blood with the growth factors, is then injected into the face. Some practitioners combine it with dermal fillers to further plump up problem areas, such as under the eye.

PRP treatment has been used for almost 20 years to accelerate the healing of wounds and burnt skin, and help athletes – including tennis ace Rafael Nadal – to recover from injury. (Using your enriched plasma permits the body to heal faster and more efficiently.) Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. The PRP, injected into specific areas of the skin, act as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, and thus acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin. In this way, PRP softens wrinkles and creating smoother skin texture and tone.

The godmother of vampire facials is socialite Kim Kardashian, but even our own sweet-faced Anna Friel has reportedly succumbed to the trend.

What is da Vinci 21?

da Vinci 21 is a world first formula containing five growth factors designed to mimic the body’s own natural growth factors in improving the youthfulness and health of skin. There is 21,000ng/ml of Growth Factors in one bottle. That’s 944 times stronger than the body’s own ability to regenerate new, firmer and healthier looking skin.  These powerful growth factors act on the skins receptors to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, provide a smoother and firmer matrix supporting the epidermis, and stimulates collagen and elastin.

da Vinci 21 requires micro needling to ensure the very large and powerful protein molecules are penetrating beneath the dermis.

da Vinci 21 is not of human origin and has been formulated in a university hospital using protein technology to make a powerful anti-aging serum.

da Vinci 10 is a home care treatment which can be used without micro needling and works best when combining an 8-10 week in-clinic programme using da Vinci 21.

How many treatments should I have?

Younger client may require a single treatment once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most clients to receive a series of three treatments spaced about three weeks apart. Older patients with deep wrinkles advanced photo-ageing, stretch marks or ice-pick acne scars will need to receive from six to ten sessions. You will be advised at the time of consultation.

What is the downtime?

Immediately after the treatment you will be given an Omnilux treatment, which reduces redness, although you may notice a like mild sunburn feeling to your skin. Your total healing time depends on the depth of needles used, on average; most patients heal completely within 24 hours, although some clients can be blemished for up to 2 days (sometimes up to 4 days after more aggressive treatments).
