More than 2,000 years ago Egypt’s last pharaoh, Queen Cleopatra bathed in sour goat’s milk to improve her skin. The lactic acid from sour milk is one of the acids used in modern AHA peels.
Sun exposure, acne or just getting older can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred. If you want your skin to look smoother and younger, consider a chemical peel to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers. Chemical peels produce controlled injury to the skin, which promote growth of new skin and improved appearance. A variety of chemicals can be used as peeling agents like; glycolic, salicylic, trichloroacetic (TCA) .The different chemical solutions produce different degrees of injury to the skin. A chemical peel, (derma peeling) is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hand
You can buy AHA products in drugstores and department stores, but these products are not permitted to contain AHA concentrations of more than 10% which is too low to have any effect on the skin. We have the ability to customise treatments for each individual client achieving subtle, gradual or astonishing transformations. Our belief is to properly exfoliate the skin while repairing, rebuilding and renewing to assist the healing and regeneration process. Our peels are designed to stimulate a fresh appearance and improve fine lines, imperfections and discoloration.
Very superficial: Will only remove the stratum corneum. May cause some slight sloughing, but usually only from repetitivetreatments.
Superficial: Can create a wound of the epidermis down to the basal cell layer. Mild flaking will occur.
Medium: Will travel through the epidermis to the uppermost part of the dermis, the papillary dermis. There will be downtime at this level because the skin will peel in large areas and will be brown and crusty for a couple of days.
Deep: This peel will go through the epidermis the papillary dermis to the deep levels of the dermis: the reticular dermis. Plastic and cosmetic surgeons perform this procedure under general anaesthesia.
